WATER, AND THE MEMORY OF SILENCE SEA / THE WATER, AND THE The Remembrance Silences

mare

A seashore, where small lakes in miniature, as it seemed to me exactly one year ago, Malta March 26, 2007.

Walk by the sea while I receive the strong smell of salt air. Looking at these miniature lakes, formed where the wave was not able to fully recover itself, it all comes back to mind a famous poem by Montale, Cigola the pulley in the well. Here the poet imagines that in a bucket of water, pulled with just a pulley of a well, an image appears to be emerging from his memory.
This seems very similar to this stretch of holes. In fact, my brain is not able to reconstruct the events linearly backwards. Rather resembles a field of small crevices in which, when the wave of the time he retired, remain trapped bits of past life memories. Some are close and it is easy to look inside. For others, you have to do a little more street.
I walk by the sea, and so I listen to the silence of the sea.

Cigola
the pulley in the well water up to the light and there merges.
trembles in a memory filled bucket
in the pure image circle ride.
combines a face to evanescent lips

deforms the past, you old, belongs to another ...

(from Cuttlefish Bones, E. Montale )
